25/ NEW (ISH)

So as you may have noticed, The Fashion Leftovers has a new name. Right from the start I knew I was going to change the name, I just couldn't think of anything. Till this day I couldn't think of anything that I just really love (any ideas?). But "get outta town" was an expression I had with my friends and it just came to mind today. So for now, The Fashion Leftovers is Get Outta Town! Yay!

P.s. : I fixed my picture problem! Now you will not have the need to click on most of the photographs I post to see their full thing! I found a way around it, by simply changing the layout.

24/ WHEN THE WORLD ENDS

First, there was a movie, then something bigger and better came along. It seems that the 2012 superstition is really getting around right about now. Though the probability of it being true is slim, the idea of using it for some kick-ass Fall 2010 looks was not a bad idea at all. Looks with the-world-has-ended-and-now-we-scrap-together-pieces-of-clothing-to-survive vibe recently graced several runways all over the world, and it works. Don't you think?

23/ REST IN PEACE

I was in a state of shock when my sister told me the sad news. Alexander McQueen was found dead in his London home this morning. He reportedly committed suicide, and imagine just after his mothers death. (This is what he wrote on his twitter "I'm letting my followers know the my mother passed away yesterday if it she had not me nor would you RIP mumxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx,")

And when typing in his website address you will find "ON BEHALF OF LEE MCQUEEN'S FAMILY, ALEXANDER MCQUEEN TODAY ANNOUNCES THE TRAGIC NEWS THAT LEE MCQUEEN, THE FOUNDER AND DESIGNER OF THE ALEXANDER MCQUEEN BRAND HAS BEEN FOUND DEAD AT HIS HOME. AT THIS STAGE IT IS INAPPROPRIATE TO COMMENT ON THIS TRAGIC NEWS BEYOND SAYING THAT WE ARE DEVASTATED AND ARE SHARING A SENSE OF SHOCK AND GRIEF WITH LEE'S FAMILY.

LEE'S FAMILY HAS ASKED FOR PRIVACY IN ORDER TO COME TO TERMS WITH THIS TERRIBLE NEWS AND WE HOPE THE MEDIA WILL RESPECT THIS."

And so soon before New York fashion week, and just days before London fashion week! I am sure there will be some lovely dedications in honor of the fashion idol.
Rest In Peace Lee. You will be missed. I can honestly say that you were/are one of my favorite designers.

19/ OLYMPIANS IN RODARTE

Jeret (Speeky) Peterson, Freestyle Skier (Aerials); Hannah Teter, Snowboarder (Halfpipe)

Emily Cook, Freestyle Skier (Aerials).

Johnny Weir, Figure Skater; Emily Cook, Freestyle Skier (Aerials).

Rachael Flatt, Figure Skater; Shaun White, Snowboarder (Halfpipe).

Johnny Weir, Figure Skater; Anders Johnson, Ski Jumper

These are just some of the many photos of U.S. olympic team'ers who were captured in Rodarte by photographer Ryan McGinley, that just so happened to catch my eye. I never thought I would see something like this. It is quite intriguing to me.
P.S.: Once again you're going to have to click on the photos to see the full thing.
Anyone know how to get rid of that? It seems to happen every time I post something. I'm clearly not clever enough to figure out how to post larger pictures.

18/ DAVID MUSHEGAIN

Oh what lovely photographs. David's work is just amazing. He has done work for various people; including Nikon and Tommy Hilfigure. Not one of his photographs do I dislike. Who ever is reading this, make sure you check him out pronto!
p.s. once again, don't forget to click on each picture to see the full thing. (most importantly with the bottom one)
